Universal

Today was a free day, and since we don't have our "get into Disney free pass" until after our traditions meeting tomorrow, we went a different route...UNIVERSAL!

Harry Potter World!!!! (and my roommate Melanie)
My tall man ;)
Totally got in trouble for having my phone out on this ride...worth it
And then I let Melanie talk me into going on the Jurassic Park ride
Never again.

Now we're making our way to downtown Disney...pretty sure I'll be seeing Frozen for the fifth time in just a few minutes (I kind of love Olaf, like a LOT) :)

Overall, PERFECT day!

Apartment Tour!!

So, now that we're all moved in, I figured an apartment tour was due.

Here's our building :)

The view from the front door (and my roommate, Sarah)

Our lovely dining room (not sure why the chairs rock. I guess if we get bored while we're eating we can start rocking ourselves to sleep?)

Our "office" (the empty bulletin board is killing me)

The kitchen

The pantry (obviously I have the top shelf that's fully packed, haha (and that's not even all of my food...(is it normal to have parentheses within parentheses within parentheses?)))

The living room

And here is our room (Ashley and me):

Ashley's bed

My bed (I need more pictures!)

Ooh, and I can't forget the fabulous shower curtain Ashley brought!

Well, that's all I've got for now

Check-in

The wait is over, I'm officially a cast member! We got to Vista Way a few minutes after 7 and only had to wait about 15 minutes before they pulled us back.
(It was only a little cold)
After talking to a bunch of people and stopping at a ton of different information centers, I found out all the exciting news! I will live in the Patterson apartment complexes, and work in the Old Key West resort! I got done with the whole process before 8AM (I was actually the first person through) and then headed over to my apartment
Home sweet home!

Currently, I'm in line for my casting meeting
Not really sure what this meeting is about...guess I'll find out soon!

Exploring!

MADE IT!!!!
We pretty much spent all day exploring, and it got me SOO pumped-- I wish I was working already!! Also, tonight we went to Applebee's with all my roomies! It was the first time we've officially met, and I'm so excited to move in! Don't have to wait too long though...

TOMORROW'S THE DAY!

(Side note, I wish every Walmart was like the ones here...so much Disney!!)

Journey to Disney

It's finally here!!! This is probably the most excited I've EVER been about a long distance car trip! Now it's just me, my mom, Disney music, and the highway for many many hours (she must really love me to voluntarily join me in my poor tiny Honda Civic...it's jam packed!!)
Can't believe I'll be in Florida tonight!!!

Also...my last meal in NC for five months was DEElicious :)

Update and Disney on Ice

Wow, December has been a crazy month and we're only seven days in!

-Craziness explained-

Reason one: FINALS! Alright, I could complain about how awful, horrible, and wretched they are (because they ARE) but I won't...just relate my happiness that I'm almost through with the semester :)

Reason two: work. When I got accepted to the DCP program I realized that it was time for me to part ways with my first and only job. Very hard to believe that I have worked at Harris Teeter for over five years, and even though it has definitely been frustrating at times, I couldn't have asked for a better first job. I have made a lot of great friends and memories at that store!

Reason three: why the heck is time going by so fast!?! My move-in date seemed so far away when I first selected it, but with work, finals, the holidays, family, and packing-- I'm already getting overwhelmed!

Reason four: Disney on Ice!!! This isn't really a reason for craziness, just something that I did today and wanted to share. Not really much to say about it other than that it was pure Disney greatness :)

(Yes, Minnie did indeed drop the cookies...very
satisfied that I was able to catch this hilarious mistake)

THE END!

DCP Description

Randomly found this article today and thought it was a great description/overview of the whole program. I've had a lot of people ask me exactly what it is, or why I was doing it, and this article answers both of these questions. To an outsider looking in, it's working a full time job for 5 months at minimum wage (or, at least, pretty dang close). To someone who loves Disney and is ready for an adventure, it's spending a whole semester working at your favorite place on earth...and getting paid to do so! It is also a great way to meet people from across the globe, try new things, and add a valuable job experience to your resume. Enough of my babbling though--here's a link to the article:
